Ahmose: Book I is an all-new 80-page graphic novel, the first in a two-volume series. It is set in ancient Egypt and is inspired by real individuals and events.
It is an oversized graphic novel (21.4cm x 29.6cm or 8.4 x 11.6 inches) that is beautifully illustrated and masterfully coloured, available in a standard softcover and a premium hardcover edition.
Ahmose: Book I takes place in the 16th century B.C. during the transition from what is referred to as the Second Intermediate Period to the New Kingdom. It is presented from the point of view of the Theban Dynasty and their struggle with the people known as the Hyksos who originated in the Levantine region and who eventually came to rule much of Egypt.
The story follows Ahmose, the son of King Seqenenre Tao, and Ahmose, son of Ibana (whose tomb inscriptions are one of the very few written records we have of the conflict with the Hyksos).
As Ahmose Ibana grows into a battle-hardened warrior, and prince Ahmose into a God-King, together they will re-forge the Egyptian kingdom.
